Free Friday: Love Dare for Parents

hero-love-dare

Since The Love Dare was first published in 2008, the number-one request received by the authors, Stephen and Alex Kendrick, has been for a similar journey for parents to take with their children. We’re please to tell you that it’s here: The Love Dare for Parents Bible study. The study is perfect to do with your spouse, to do alone, or even better, a small group of couples. You will benefit greatly by being able to share stories and parenting advice with others.

Here’s a short excerpt from the first week of the study:

How do you talk about your children around others?

Exhaustion is not every parent’s modus operandi, of course. You may be in a sweet spot with your children, but still know how easy it is to slip back into a frenetic pace. The Love Dare for Parents journey is a look at parenting as Scripture describes it—at loving our children the way God does. It’s about walking in a relationship with the One who created us and entrusted our kids to us. This relational walk may result in conviction and in needed change in perspective and action. So what are we waiting for?

  1. Spend time alone with each of my four children. Go out to lunch, take a leisurely walk, or just hang out together letting them know you value them as individuals. Thanks.

  2. Tammy Carr says:

Unfortunately, my husband & I do not have children. We have been struggling with infertility since we married 10 years ago. But, God has blessed us with many children to love. We serve as co-Ministers of Education at FBC in Madisonville, KY. The Lord has given us many children to love on there. We have a young couple in our church that have also struggled with infertility and God has now blessed them with twin baby boys through adoption. They asked us to be their children’s prayer parents for life. My husband was blessed to perform their baby dedication on the boys first birthday last month. I would love to win the two copies of “The Love Dare for Parents”. I would give this young family a copy and then we would give another copy away at our church.

  3. Kathy Blankenbeker says:

    Hello
My name is Kathy. I am. Faithful believer in Jesus Christ. I am a mother of 3 children the Lord has blessed me with. My family hosts a small group in our home after church. Needless to say it is children freindly. I also babysit in my home. I know how important a good foundation is for children! If they do not get that than they will not have a good foundation when grown up. We try our best to help bring that good start to ALL children that pass through our family home. And trust me when I say that is A lot! As for my family…we love toturn up the radio and sing Christian songs and dance. It is so awesome to listen to my children sing along! My 4 year old sings “Gods not dead”. The Newsboys. I even have it on video.
